EDUCATION

I spent preschool through 3rd grade at Pasadena Christian School(PCS). After 3rd grade, I realized that I wanted to attend a school with greater access to educational resources so I applied for and transferred to Westridge School for Girls. I stayed at Westridge School for 4th grade through 6th grade until my family had to move. The move gave me the opportunity to apply to Harvard-Westlake School, where I currently am expected to graduate from

LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCES

Since November 2017, I participated in my first volunteer events at the Los Angeles Covenant House. Covenant House LA is a non-profit organization devoted to helping the homeless and trafficked youth in Los Angeles. For over 40 years, they have taken in and cared for multiple young people by providing them a place to stay, along with a complete high school and college education. Covenant House is now a human rights movement in 31 cities across 6 countries. During my time volunteering there, I have organized holiday events, fundraising activities, and clothing and food drives.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

I have learned cello and piano since I was in 3rd grade, and I have participated in countless recitals and competitions while being in the LA Youth Orchestra. Currently, I am also learning how to play the guitar and drums in my free time. Art is another one of my main extracurriculars. I have entered national competitions like the Toyota Dream Car Competition and the Scholastic Art Competition. At school, I am the editor for Babel and Stonecutters, two literary and art magazines that publish works submitted by the students.

SUMMER/WINTER EXPERIENCES

During the summer of 2021, I visited the Oxbridge Summer Program at Oxford University, where I participated in the class “Literature and the Fantastic”. In this program we discussed and conducted research on multiple renowned works of literature including The Odyssey, His Dark Materials, and more. Every summer of high school I also visit the school El Porvenir in San Telmo, Mexico alongside other high school and college students to teach English and art to the children there. In my free time, I often visit Japan and Korea to visit my family members.
